CHASE HILL POLICIES
Scheduling
While every attempt is made to adhere to our schedules, we reserve the right to adjust them as necessary, and we will contact you in advance if we have a pending conflict. Likewise, if you have schedule conflict, please notify us at least 24 hours in advance to avoid being charged for a missed session; we will do our best to offer a you make up within seven days.
Tuition Payments
Tuition payments generally are handled directly through Paypal; however, payments can also be made with Visa, Mastercard, Discover, or American Express. The transaction will take place over a secure Internet connection; your personal information and credit card number will be encrypted and sent directly to Paypal. The Chase Hill School does not have access to this information.
Program Software Requirements
In order to participate fully in tutorials, you will need a personal computer with an internet browser, email, Skype and access to Google Docs. Please let us know if you cannot meet these requirements or if you prefer platforms other than Skype and Google: we may be able to create a workaround.
Assignments
Students will get the most out of their Chase Hill program by fully participating in it: this means completing their assignments, exercises, etc., to the best of their abilities, submitting them on time, and asking questions when they arise. Submitting their work in a timely manner assures that Mary will have ample time to read and prepare for tutorials prior to meeting--this saves students and their families both time and money. Assignments are not graded; however, it’s important that students’ best effort is made, in order for the tutorials to target actual areas of weakness rather than the results of rushing or carelessness. Therefore, we strongly encourage students to take their time with the writing process :)
Grades and Degree Credits
Like assignments, Chase Hill tutorials are not graded, and we do not confer any type of academic credit.
Privacy
The Chase Hill School will never release any student or family information to any third party unless requested, as in the case of recommendations to high schools and colleges.
Admissions
Because of the quality of our teacher-student interaction and the time Mary spends on each piece of student writing, the Chase Hill School can only accept a small number of students each year. Our selection process involves a number of factors, such as scheduling opportunities, student motivation, and our wish to keep a balance between creative writing students and those focused on academic writing.
Refunds
In all our years of operation, the Chase Hill School has never been asked for a refund. If and when that ever happens, we will happily refund the dissatisfied student or family up to one month's tuition.
